Frequently Asked Questions
Most of our cleaning is done with a truckmount, hot water extraction unit ("Steam Cleaning").
Research shows that this method provides the deepest, most through cleaning.
We also have a portable extraction machine and a Cimex Cyclone for low moisture cleaning in commercial settings.
You can save some money using a store rented machine, but it may not be worth it in the end.
Those units are awkward to handle and they have several flaws:
They do not provide sufficient heat, which is needed for a deep clean.
They tend to leave behind too much detergent which attracts dirt back to the carpet.
They tend to leave too much water behind, which can cause wicking and mildew issues.
We encourage you to compare the time, effort and cost it takes to do it on your own with using our services and getting a much better clean.
Carpet manufacturers recommend that carpets should be professionally cleaned every 12 to 18 months.
We recommend that our clients get their carpets professionally cleaned once a year.
Why?
For much of the year Okanagan air is quite dusty.
Carpet acts like an air filter, trapping animal dander, dust and pollen in your home.
Soil is abrasive and over time it scratches fibers and can wear out a carpet prematurely.
In the long run regular cleaning is a good investment in your home and your health.
We can share price ranges and provide an estimate over the phone or by email.
However we are happy to provide an exact price prior to cleaning, or we can visit you ahead of time.
Our minimum charge for on-site cleaning is $145. Our minimum charge for area rug pickup and cleaning service is $95.
We do not like to surprise our customers with extra fees on the final invoice.
